My name is Dante Filadoro, and I am writing to you on behalf of Sean Weber, Nick Cammarano, Henry Holmes, and myself – who proudly represent ATG and the University of Massachusetts.

We have earned the privilege of participating in the National Collegiate Landscape Competition (NCLC) hosted at Brigham and Young University in Provo, Utah, from March 13th to 16th, 2024. This prestigious event gathers the best and brightest students from across the country, offering a platform for us to showcase our skills and compete in various landscaping challenges.

Participation in the NCLC not only provides us with invaluable hands-on experience but also opens doors to networking opportunities and potential career paths in the landscape industry. However, to make this journey possible, we are seeking your support.

Dear Campus Community:

The Public Health Promotion Center (PHPC) is closely monitoring the results of the UMass Amherst COVID-19 testing program. For the fifth consecutive week we have seen a reduction in positive cases.

The latest data covering Oct. 13-19 shows 10 new positive cases. The university’s cumulative seven-day positivity rate is 0.16%. The state’s seven-day positivity rate is 1.82%. We continue to be extremely encouraged with the downward trend in the positivity rate and cases. Most cases are of short duration resulting in mild-to-moderate illness. One staff member remains hospitalized. Details about case counts and vaccinations can be found on the university’s COVID-19 Dashboard, which is updated every Thursday.

The twice-weekly flu vaccination clinics at the PHPC on the lower level of the Campus Center have been busy. UMass students, faculty and staff - please schedule your flu vaccination appointments through the Campus Health Hub. Flu vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and others against influenza.

Eligible Massachusetts residents can obtain the Pfizer COVID-19 booster shot at the PHPC on Thursdays and Fridays. Please visit the UMass COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic website to determine if you are eligible and to schedule an appointment by going to the Vaccine Appointment Scheduling page.

We anticipate early next week receiving guidance from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on boosters for Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and the mixing of vaccines. As soon as we receive guidance, we will update the COVID-19 Vaccine website with our plans for administering these vaccines.

In addition to picking up kits for unobserved testing at convenient locations on and off campus, the PHPC is currently piloting the use of vending machines for kit pick-up. Vending machines are currently located on the first floor of the Campus Center (bottom of the escalator) and next to the café in Whitmore. Just tap your UCard to the reader and enter your selection to get a kit. UMass students, faculty and staff can get up to two kits per week.

Please maintain vigilance in following all public health protocols, including wearing masks indoors and while outdoors when social distancing is not possible. Everyone must continue to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms every day before coming to campus. If you feel unwell, stay home, and get tested. Testing is free and readily available at the Public Health Promotion Center.

Please remember that the steps you take make an important difference. Continue to care for yourselves and one another.

On Monday August 31, ATG hosted a party for the new and returning students to welcome them back to campus. About 25 students and handful of alumni attended. The new Director of Stockbridge Baoshan Xing showed up for a meet and greet!

Isolation and Quarantine Planning Guide 2021

UMass Amherst will use the key public health tools known as isolation and quarantine to prevent the spread of COVID‐19 among the campus community. Because there is typically little time to prepare for isolation or quarantine when instructed to do so, UMass Amherst has developed this planning guide to assist students in preparing to isolate or quarantine. This guide is for students who live on campus, as well as student who live off campus.

New Addition to our Historic home

The Amherst Historic Commission has created the Amherst Writers Walk consisting of 12 locations throughout the town. #1 on the list is Ray Stannard Baker house at 118 Sunset Ave.

ATG Inc Sells 2 Properties for $850,000

AMHERST - ATG has sold two properties next to the greenspace that once encompassed fraternity row.

25 Butterfield Terrace is a single-family rental home with 78-acre site.
407 North Pleasant St a, .91 acre property, which has been used as a rooming house, fraternity & sorority house.

Alpha Tauma Gamma, Inc. sold both abutting properties for a combined $850,000. $25K goes to the Stockbridge School of Agriculture as a gift.

Special Kudos to Mark Olson '88' who spent countless hours daily, brokering the deal for the past 90 days.
